Effects of Refiner Plates with Different Fillings on TMP Properties

This study conducted a comparative analysis of two refiner plates that had different bar patterns. The were designed with three distinct zones, including the high-intensity zone, transition and low-intensity draft angle 4–5 degrees. significant difference in cutting edge length (CEL) approximately four times. Specifically, TMP plate A (TP A) CEL 5.1 km/s, while B B) 22.7 indicating TP applied greater force to wood chips during refining. exhibited stock throughput at same refining energy compared due its smaller CEL. promoted fibrillation fibers, leading large decrease fiber width without significantly changing mean before after bulk CTMP increased slightly more than A. However, showed tensile strength larger length, whereas there was no change tear between plates.
